Hessle!

A project made during lockdown and my first proper attempt at an audio drama with professional actors, Hessle! is a mad, surreal take on one man’s love of his pet. In this case, his pet is a sixty-foot tall Lizard-Whale called Hessle.

When Gwyd brings Hessle home, his partner Sharon takes this as a step toward maturity, a sign of commitment; hope that this could help bring them closer together as Gwyd’s growing reliance on her and dissipating romance had been escalating for the past year.

Although featuring a blatant Godzilla rip off, the story is about Sharon’s journey through the wake of Hessle’s destruction as she finally learns to stand up for herself and be independent from the man-child she once loved.
